Sometimes you just need separate accounts so you don't give the wrong person access to your money. When you're married, your spouse is supposed to be the right person. Jon withdrew a lot of money and Kate wasn't too happy about it. This comes down to how you work out problems in your relationship. The bottom line is communication, and something was obviously not communicated properly. I love my wife and I can see her jacking "us" for a whole bunch of money.
